Call for Applications – FRIAS Fellowship Programmes 2026/27

The Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS) invites researchers from all disciplines and nationalities to apply for fellowships in the academic year 2026/27.

Fellowship Formats

  • Early Career Fellowships (4–10 months): For researchers up to eight years after completing their PhD.
  • Senior Fellowships (3–8 months): For scholars with at least eight years of postdoctoral research experience.
  • One Sustainable Governance Fellowship (6 months): For researchers in the Humanities and Social Sciences based at African institutions.
